Dardenne Prairie staff praised for snow response; police options tabled and residents raise fireworks and subdivision plowing concerns

"I do want to give credit to Amy who managed the bulk of the angry calls or emails... She did a remarkable job," Kathy said. She also announced planning for the annual HOA dinner (proposed Thursday, May 1) and an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 19, which will again include an Inclusive Egg Hunt.
On public safety and operations, Captain Hunt requested tabling the options for expanding police services to the Jan. 22 meeting to complete data preparation; the board approved a motion to table the item. Separately, several aldermen reported reports of fireworks detonated around midnight that alarmed pets and residents; one alderman said fireworks came from an adjacent Saint Charles County trailer park and lasted for an extended period, prompting concerns from constituents.
An alderman also raised that several new subdivisions within Dardenne Prairie have streets not yet dedicated to the city, and that developers had not cleared snow from those streets; the mayor said he would contact staff (Jim Brennan) to follow up with developers about their responsibilities on undedicated streets.
The board adjourned the work session and said the regular meeting would begin at 7 p.m.
Next steps: Police-services options will be revisited on Jan. 22; staff will follow up on undedicated subdivisions and developer responsibilities for snow removal; community-event dates will be finalized in coming months.
