Bossier City council suspends demolition orders, grants owners time to complete repairs

The council voted to condemn the property but suspend enforcement until Jan. 30, 2026, and asked that Miss Hernandez appear at the Jan. 29 administrative council meeting at 10 a.m. to provide an update.
Craig Chapman of Property Standards told the council that the owner of 632 Joanne Street had pulled permits on Nov. 10 and work is underway; he said the current permit expires Feb. 10, 2026. The council agreed to revisit the case at the Feb. 26 administrative council meeting at 10 a.m. and allowed work to continue in the meantime.
