Lynn Bridal, executive director of Keep Bossier Beautiful, told the Bossier City Council on Dec. 2 that the nonprofit’s 2025 programs included sinking about 300 Christmas trees in Cypress Lake Bayou to rebuild fish habitat, planting trees in South Bossier, and partnering with schools on recycling and education programs.
Bridal said the parishwide Operation Clean Sweep engaged roughly 600 volunteers and removed approximately 14,000 pounds of debris. The organization reported several grants this year: a $5,000 award from the Beard Foundation; a $20,000 Keep America Beautiful grant to combat cigarette litter; and a $14,000 Arbor Day Foundation grant sponsored by State Farm to distribute trees. Bridal said about 500 trees were given away and that a tree pickup and giveaway will occur Dec. 11 at the parish courthouse with online registration.
Bridal also noted local partnerships including Coca‑Cola, the sheriff’s office, police jury officials and the city of Bossier in supporting cleanups, placement of trash cans at bus stops and installation of 47 ash receptacles across the parish. Council members thanked Bridal and described her group as a useful resource for district needs. Bridal closed by inviting council members and residents to upcoming events and volunteer opportunities.
