Lisa Johnson, president of the Bossier City Chamber of Commerce, told the Bossier City Council on Jan. 6 that the chamber’s city‑funded bBossier campaign posted large gains in online engagement in 2025 and that a printed annual manual will return this year.
Johnson, who said the campaign is supported through hotel‑motel tax funding rather than general local tax dollars, highlighted platform results and audience geography. “In 2025, 2 and a half million views on Facebook,” she said, and reported “3,300 plus” TikTok followers and more than 208,000 video views. “It’s working. It’s working,” Johnson told the council.
The presentation summarized website and social metrics dating to the campaign’s 2017 launch, including an engineer of popular posts (the Hanger and Tap House item drew more than 11,000 views in its run) and growth in cross‑state referrals after paid partnerships with the Advocate. Johnson said the chamber produced roughly 93 blogs in 2025 and is preparing a 5,000‑copy printed annual manual supported primarily by advertising revenue.
Council members asked for follow‑up information about the business impacts of the campaign, including a request for statistics that separate currently operating businesses from venues that later closed (council members cited the Hanger and Tap House as an example). Johnson said she would provide more detailed statistics on that request.
The council did not take formal action on the presentation; Johnson concluded by offering to answer additional questions and provide the requested follow‑up figures to the council and staff.
