Rockville Town Council voted unanimously to rescind a prior finding that Jacob Anderson’s building permit for Parcel R-13-08-D did not provide required frontage on Eagle Crags Road.
Council members discussed information from staff that meeting the Hurricane Valley Fire Service District’s road requirements, the fire marshal’s conditions and the International Fire Code, as well as securing any easements from the underlying landowner to widen and improve the road where needed, would likely satisfy the town’s frontage requirements under its land use code.
After that clarification, a motion to rescind the council’s earlier decision was made and approved by roll call; those recorded responding were Andy, Robin, Megan, Pam and Jeff. Council also voted to set the six-month period for meeting the final requirements to begin from the council’s special meeting date of 01/07/2026.
The council did not specify in the public record which member moved or seconded the rescission. The record notes the parcel as “Parcel R‑13‑08‑D.” The council’s action restores the applicant’s ability to pursue final permitting contingent on meeting the identified fire-district and code requirements and obtaining any required easements.
Next steps noted by staff: the property owner should work directly with the Hurricane Valley Fire Service District and the fire marshal to confirm road-width, materials and other technical requirements and to document any easements needed for the road improvements. The council did not adopt alternate frontage conditions or change the town’s land use code in this action.
