WALSBURG, Utah — The Walsburg Town Council adopted four separate governance resolutions at its March 6 meeting, establishing rules for ethical behavior, reporting fraud and abuse, travel by officials and credit-card purchasing.
The council read each resolution title into the record and called individual votes. Resolution 2025-03 establishes a town ethical behavior policy for elected and appointed officials and employees and directs the mayor to implement guidance and an annual review. Resolution 2025-04 sets a reporting mechanism for alleged fraud and abuse. Resolution 2025-05 governs travel by town officials and employees, and Resolution 2025-06 sets rules for credit-card purchasing.
For each resolution the council moved, seconded and recorded unanimous 'aye' voice votes, with the mayor and the listed council members recorded as voting in favor. Council members emphasized that the packages were intended to promote transparency and accountability in town operations. The clerk and staff will implement the policies and incorporate them into annual review schedules.
All four resolutions take effect immediately upon passage unless otherwise specified in each document. The council noted the resolutions will be numbered and maintained in town records for public inspection.
