In his report, the city manager said the city had met with the school district and that staff (Lyle) had drafted a parking expansion concept for Canyon Creek to be reviewed by the school board. Council members also discussed traffic-safety improvements: decorative crosswalk painting and potential stoplight or pedestrian beacon options at Innovator and 1525, with staff noting that full stoplight installation could be months to a year out due to parts and power availability.
Council discussion about the regional park covered signage for a timed fireplace, potential sunshade and swings, a CERT-supported cost-saving approach for swings and ideas for community programming (including table-tennis for first responders to engage youth). Council asked staff to consider simple instructional signage for park features and to continue follow-up with designers and operations staff.
