Sandy Coker was elected chair of the Town of Westborough Economic Development Committee during the group’s July 9 meeting after a nomination from a committee member and subsequent roll‑call vote. The committee also selected Holly Kenny as vice chair in a separate nomination and roll call.
The nominations came early in the meeting after the committee noted a vacancy created when a long‑serving member stepped down. Speaker 7 nominated Coker for chair; a roll call recorded yes votes from Bagden, Henderson, Coker, Raley, Kenny and Monroe, and the motion carried. For vice chair, members nominated Holly and held a second roll call that resulted in Kenny’s election.
The votes followed a brief procedural approval of last month’s minutes (motion by Speaker 3, seconded by Speaker 4) that passed on voice and roll call. The meeting then moved on to a scheduled presentation by Sustainable Westborough.
The committee did not take any additional formal personnel actions at the meeting; the chair and vice chair positions are internal committee roles that will affect how the panel runs its agenda and outreach going forward. The committee also discussed next steps on agenda items, including a fall town meeting item presented later in the session.
The committee adjourned after other scheduled business and roll‑call approval of the motion to end the meeting.
