The Morrow County Board of Commissioners approved routine payments, multiple fund transfers and a contract renewal during its regular session on Aug. 13, 2055.
At the start of the meeting, Commissioner Mason opened with a prayer, asking that the board’s decisions serve county employees, first responders and residents: “Lord, we ask that you be with us today and help guide our decisions,” he said. The Pledge of Allegiance followed.
In a series of procedural motions the board unanimously approved payments from Chesterville, Johnsville and Cattermans and accepted a third-quarter cost allocation from Job and Family Services. Commissioners also approved a transfer of funds into the engineers fund and moved a capital improvement allocation into equipment to cover a mower purchase after staff said the equipment account better suited the expense.
The board authorized the Morrow County auditor to establish a new fund for the Morrow County Court of Common Pleas to receive an Ohio Community Supervision System grant. Commissioners also authorized the chairman to sign a renewal with Spectrum Internet. The treasurer’s cash-sheet report at close of business on July 31, 2025, was journalized by board action.
Votes at a glance: all procedural motions recorded at the meeting passed on recorded roll calls with affirmative responses from the commissioners in attendance (recorded as Mason, Abraham and Siegfried).
County staff used the meeting to report operational and public-safety items, including preparations for the upcoming county fair and a planned health-and-safety outreach event. The board recessed and returned to regular session at 2:17 p.m., and adjourned at 2:18 p.m.
The actions taken were procedural approvals and authorizations; no additional policy directives or contested items were recorded in the meeting minutes.
