The Forest Lake City Council opened its Aug. 25 meeting with roll call and approved the agenda and consent items before addressing several service and personnel updates.
Staff introduced Ellie Larcom as the city’s new finance director and Steven Gilmore as the new assistant community development director, both welcomed by the council. Abby reported ongoing recruitments for planner and building official positions and said staff expects an active development season with multiple plats moving forward.
Fire Chief Newman reported that on Saturday crews responded to a fully involved garage fire on Hunters Hill that extended into the structure; mutual aid from neighboring departments helped bring the fire under control in about three hours and there were no injuries.
The meeting concluded after a brief round of member updates and a motion to adjourn.
