Thomas offered several numerical claims about county land use and revenue generation, stating that Wilson County covers about 583 square miles, that roughly 3% of county land is used for commercial or industrial development, and that this 3% generates “33% of the county’s revenue.” He also estimated that a 330,000‑square‑foot warehouse could translate into roughly “a quarter of $1,000,000 in revenues.” These figures were presented by Thomas as part of his argument for strategic growth and were not corroborated during the meeting.
The committee did not take formal action on the project during the session; Thomas said he expected the proposal to come before the committee next month and expressed his intention to engage with commissioners before any vote.
