At its regular meeting the Kaneland CUSD 302 Board of Education formally accepted $107,597.50 in donations from parent organizations to benefit students across the district.
Doctor Bogan presented the donations package and said the total in front of the board was $107,597.50 for the 2024–25 school year. He noted the special‑needs PTA raised and donated "almost $1,000," sponsored a gymnastics party and provided a $500 scholarship last year; that item will be recommended for acceptance at the next meeting because it was not included in the current report. "These donations truly do make a difference," Dr. Bogan said.
Board members asked whether the district tracks how much each PTA/PTO raises year to year and whether those groups carry forward fund balances. Dr. Bogan responded that PTOs are separate organizations (the district does not hold their funds) but that the organizations report annually what they have donated to schools. The board approved acceptance of the donations by roll call vote, 7–0.
The district will present any outstanding or newly discovered donations (such as the special‑needs PTA contribution) at a subsequent meeting for formal acceptance.
