The Middleton Airport Commission on Aug. 1 reelected Dave Lohrmann as chair and confirmed David Schwartz as vice chair, accepted the June 6 minutes and the airport financial report, and voted to recommend a five‑year memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a local farmer for mowing services to the Common Council for ratification.
Lohrmann retained the chairship after a nomination by David Schwartz; commissioners voted 4–0 to reelect him. Commissioners later nominated and confirmed David Schwartz to remain vice chair; he accepted the nomination.
Under business matters, the commission considered a draft MOU with Larry Wagner to continue providing mowing services in exchange for use of harvested material. Staff emphasized the agreement is an MOU rather than a lease and therefore does not entail a property exchange. The commission made a motion to recommend approval of the MOU to the Common Council for formal ratification; the motion was seconded and approved.
The commission also accepted the minutes of its June 6 meeting as presented and moved to accept the airport financials included in the meeting packet. Staff reported the financials are steady and typical for the airport; commissioners raised no objections.
Next procedural steps: the recommended MOU will be transmitted to the Common Council for final action, and staff will circulate any additional materials to commissioners as requested. The commission closed the meeting after a brief review of other agenda items and future topics.
