Wilson County judicial committee approves status-quo court budgets and renews judge's fee resolution

The Wilson County Judicial Committee on Monday approved status-quo budgets for several court-related offices and voted to renew the judge's fee resolution at an amount calculated at about $61.42.

Committee members began by approving the minutes before turning to status-quo budgets. Aaron (Unidentified Speaker 5) presented the circuit court budget, and Unidentified Speaker 6 flagged several needs, including a $2,000 bond payment and an estimated roughly $10,000 shortfall tied to files and related office supplies. Unidentified Speaker 4 described expected reductions to part-time budgets and shifting some funds to full-time lines, noting finance will finalize the exact amount and that the committee would revisit numbers toward the end of the fiscal year. The committee also addressed a judge's fee resolution that must be renewed annually. Unidentified Speaker 2 moved to renew the judge's fee resolution at the dollar amount calculated by staff; the motion referenced an amount of about $61.42 (SEG 582-586). The motion was seconded and approved with ayes recorded.

Members approved the Clerk and Master's status-quo budget conditionally despite that office's absence; the committee noted it must return to the committee if it has any needs (SEG 598-613). Several participants asked staff to re-check figures in the minutes and budget packets to ensure numbers match prior drafts.

The meeting ended after the committee voted to adjourn. Several procedural clarifications were left open for staff follow-up, including final reserve transfers for circuit court needs and exact part-time savings to be confirmed by finance.
