Committee advances reciprocity cleanup to restore UK and other endorsement pathways

House Commerce Committee members returned House Bill 2122 with a due-pass recommendation after committee staff said the measure makes clarifying changes to registration qualifications for reciprocity and endorsement.
Zane Owen, an intern for the committee, explained that the bill makes technical fixes after last year's legislation and "allows for that reciprocity on this subject with The United Kingdom," which had been omitted. Representative Wilma (closing remarks) said the reciprocity change "just makes it easier for people to come to Arizona to do business." The committee recorded a roll-call vote of 11-0 in favor.
Eric Emert of Dorn Policy Group, representing the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying, testified he had nothing further to add and stood for questions.
The bill was described as a cleanup to allow endorsement and reciprocal registration pathways and will move forward with a committee due-pass recommendation to the next stage of consideration.
