Michael Huber, representing his Briar Lane homeowners association, used the Sept. 9 public-comment slot to reiterate an earlier offer of a substantial piece of right-of-way along Highway 99 for the trail extension to the AgPark. He said the HOA remains open to talks; Mayor (name not stated) said design staff would be notified to consider the parcel in trail design work.
The mayor reported progress at the local food bank: electrical upgrades and new freezer capacity after volunteers and grant funding supported renovations at the old city shop site. A Food Lifeline representative described rising statewide demand (city official quoted pre-COVID service of ~800,000 clients, a COVID-era peak of ~1.2 million and a current approach toward 2 million). Councilmembers asked residents to support a food-bank fundraiser Saturday at the Eagles; volunteers and a driver remain needed.
Council also added and passed a First Responders Appreciation Day proclamation recognizing the city's police and fire personnel; the proclamation text will be printed for signatures and circulated.
