Tenino council adopts six‑year street plan, approves Springbrook contract and consent calendar

The council passed a resolution formally adopting the six‑year street/transportation plan (the city’s 2026–2031 six‑year street plan). Mayor Watterson introduced the second reading and a councilmember moved adoption; after a second the measure passed by voice vote. The resolution incorporates an Exhibit A with the plan map and directs that the document be filed with the state director of highways.
Council then approved a six‑month “Springbrook Support Plus” contract to help complete end‑of‑year reporting and to support new finance staff. The contract is for $10,000 total, with $5,000 due at signing and $5,000 due in the first quarter of the next fiscal year. Council members said the short extension will help close out the year as the city’s new clerk/treasurer and staff finish reconciliations.
Earlier in the meeting the council approved a consent calendar that included payroll and ETF disbursements of $51,166.99 and claims checks (33523–33552) totaling $558,105.18, for a combined total of $609,272.17. The council also approved an amended consent calendar covering earlier payroll and claims that totaled $158,883.48. All three items were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
What’s next: the transportation plan will be incorporated into municipal records and considered by the Tenino Planning Commission during any comprehensive‑plan amendment process, and staff said the Springbrook contract will support the city’s year‑end and next‑year budgeting work.
