Planner Jenny Gingrich updated the Town of Westborough Planning Board on April 16 about the downtown planning process, reporting that a public meeting had about 45 attendees and roughly 80 survey responses from a linked scavenger‑hunt survey. The consulting team RKG will present recommended concepts, including proposals for the downtown rotary, parking strategies and zoning adjustments, at a follow-up public meeting scheduled for Wednesday, June 5 at 6 p.m.
Jenny said staff will post the consultant presentation and the Westborough TV recording on the town website and that she will announce the raffle winner connected to the public engagement activities. Board members praised the consultants’ organization and outreach format and encouraged continued public review and feedback.
Separately, the chair said the design review board condensed historical sign-guideline materials into a shorter, user-friendly application and expects to finalize the new guidelines before June. The planning office also continues work on the housing production plan and a zoning working group will circulate a draft bylaw for board comment in the coming weeks.
