County commissioners approve routine payments, fund transfers, appointment and paving change order

The Morrow County Board of Commissioners handled a series of routine agenda items and procedural votes during its Oct. 6 session.
Speaker 2 read a set of consent-agenda items that included payments from local customers and agencies, a payment from Job and Family Services for October rent, a fourth-quarter rent and administrative payment from DKMN, and a payment to Sims Brothers for scrap-metal engineering services. The board also approved an appropriation of unappropriated certified monies to the MCAT fund. Motions were made and seconded, and roll-call confirmations recorded verbal "Yes" responses.
The board approved several transfers among county funds, including transfers for planning, general fund development, law enforcement, the sheriff's rotary fund, the Swaddler Water Fund, and the general time-recorder fund. One transfer required clarification when a second was not immediately recorded; commissioners resolved the procedural issue and affirmed the vote.
Speaker 1 moved to appoint Austin Hatfield to the Morrow County Regional Airport Authority Board; the motion was seconded and approved by verbal confirmation.
The board also approved change order No. 2 with Cocosian Construction Company for a 2025 Morrow County paving bid package and authorized the chairman of finance to finalize related actions. The agenda included a final payment on a generator referenced by Speaker 2. Following the listed business, Speaker 2 said there were no additional items and Speaker 1 moved to adjourn.
The board noted that county offices and the courthouse will be closed Monday for Columbus Day and that the next session will be on Oct. 15.
