Jenny, a planning department staff member, told the Economic Development Committee on Aug. 6 that the Planning Board will consider an application on Aug. 20 to convert the Sonesta Extended Stay hotel at 25 Minter Road into apartments.
She said the planning staff has received the draft of the downtown plan and is conducting an internal review; once comments are incorporated the draft will be distributed to stakeholders, and the EDC may add an agenda item at a future meeting to discuss economic development outcomes and recommendations.
Jenny also noted a public information meeting is scheduled for Sept. 11 to discuss Section 2 of the BWALT project. She said staff expects the Select Board to see three alternatives for the proposed community center around Aug. 20 and that the EDC will have opportunities to provide feedback ahead of a potential funding request at the October town meeting.
The planning update was procedural and informational: no votes were taken and no policy decisions were made during the EDC meeting.
