Westborough finance committee backs $9,000 transfer for nonunion pay study

The Town of Westborough Advisory Finance Committee on Oct. 7 recommended that the town transfer $9,000 from free cash to fund a nonunion compensation study, the committee said.
McMahon moved the recommendation to transfer the $9,000 (Article 6) and a fellow committee member seconded. Committee members indicated no substantive objections and the motion carried. The study was described to the committee as a narrow, targeted effort to review nonunion pay levels and the committee’s recommendation will appear in the warrant materials distributed ahead of town meeting.
Committee members did not develop new conditions or amendments to the transfer at the meeting. The chair said the recommendation will be included in the advisory committee’s written comments for town meeting.
