During opening remarks, the Senate Judiciary Committee accepted requests to introduce three RS items. Senator Doug Shane asked to introduce RS 26RS2771 ("act concerning civil actions and civil procedure prohibiting abusive litigation") and a second RS (26RS2543) concerning wage garnishment. Senator Kenny Titus requested introduction of RS 2786 regarding a jury-duty exemption for breastfeeding mothers.
Chair Kelly Warren acknowledged the introductions and ordered them introduced; no committee debate or votes on any of the RS items were held in this session. Committee staff will process the formal paperwork to place these items on future agendas.
