Select Board approves election warrant, Veterans Day display and several warrant articles; moves to executive session

During routine business on Oct. 8 the Select Board handled a set of administrative and procedural items.
Town Clerk Deb asked the board to sign the Nov. 5, 2024 state election warrant and briefed members on ballot mailings and early voting dates; the board authorized the clerk to post the warrant and approved the request by roll call. The board also approved a recurring Veterans Day poppy-and-flag display at the Westboro Rotary after a motion and roll-call vote.
Later the board moved to support Articles 9, 15, 18 and 19 on the special Town Meeting warrant (the motion passed 5–0). The board discussed meeting-date adjustments for late November and December to avoid Thanksgiving week and Christmas Eve and agreed informally to move Nov. 26 → Nov. 19, Dec. 10 → Dec. 3 and Dec. 24 → Dec. 17. The board approved meeting minutes for Sept. 26 and Oct. 1 and then voted unanimously to enter executive session to discuss collective bargaining, negotiations with nonunion personnel, multiple litigation matters, and certain real-estate negotiations; the board announced it would not reconvene in open session.
