Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services reports caseload growth in Westborough contract

Fred Cowen, executive director of Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services, addressed the Select Board to introduce the agency’s clinical services for Westborough residents.
Cowen said the contract began July 1 and that the initial caseload at takeover was six active cases. He told the board that two clinicians now carry 32 active cases in Westborough and that there is no wait list at present. He described the nonprofit as a standalone provider with regional experience and said the organization will host a community meet-and-greet on Oct. 15 at the Great Hall so residents can learn about services and staff.
Select Board members welcomed the service expansion and thanked Cowen for the early results and for coordinating outreach to residents.
