Some speakers argued for borrowing so retained earnings used by the golf enterprise would not be immediately drawn down; others said using retained earnings would avoid issuing debt but could reduce capital reserves. Speaker 5 noted retained earnings were about $600,000 and estimated the highest annual debt service might be about $45,000 in a conservative scenario.
Speaker 4 moved to amend the warrant amount to $200,000 to fund schematic design, a food‑service consultant and updated drawings; Speaker 7 seconded. After discussion about source (enterprise fund vs. retained earnings) and procurement thresholds, Chair (Speaker 1) confirmed the committee had voted on the amended amount and moved on to other business.
