WALSBURG, Utah — The Walsburg Town Council on May 1 held a public hearing on whether properties outside the town limits should be allowed to connect to the town’s recently upgraded culinary water system, hearing competing views on supply, cost and long‑term community impacts.
Council leaders opened the hearing by saying it was solely for gathering public comment and that no decisions would be made that night. Terry Issel told attendees the town’s preliminary research found other Utah municipalities treat outside hookups on a case‑by‑case basis: many require impact or connection fees, consider water quantity and quality, and some jurisdictions prohibit hookups when supplies are limited.
