Bedford council launches town facilities survey, asks residents to respond by Oct. 17

Councilor Besske told the retreat the survey—eight questions accessible via a QR code printed on the back page of the Sept. 11 Bedford Bulletin and via a URL—will remain open through Oct. 17. "The Bedford town council needs your input," Besske said in a brief recorded message the council played at the meeting. "The survey is open now through October 17. Please don't wait. Your voice matters."
The council framed the survey as a follow-up after two warrant articles proposing fire and police station projects were defeated and said staff will compile the results and return recommendations to the council. Town Manager Rick Sawyer confirmed the survey will also be posted on the town website and available at the Petro Library.
Officials said the outreach is intended to collect both quantitative answers and open comments to help explain why prior proposals failed—whether due to location, cost, timing or other reasons. The council does not plan to make decisions at the retreat; instead, members said they will use the survey results to prioritize projects and to shape possible warrant language for future meetings.
Next steps: staff will collect responses through Oct. 17, tabulate the results and report back to the council with summary findings and recommended follow‑up work or warrant proposals.
