Council authorized the city manager to execute a $217,690 services agreement with LJB Engineering to complete quadrant 3 of the city’s GIS refresh. Public Works staff said quadrants 1 and 2 are complete and quadrant 3 contains a dense area of water, sewer and storm assets that proved critical during the recent leak; staff said the missing mapping delayed valve location and repair efforts this past weekend.
The project will digitize assets (water lines, valves, hydrants, manholes, culverts and street signs), attach maintenance and installation metadata, and integrate with maintenance/asset management portals (staff referenced a hub and the Beehive maintenance portal). Councilors said the work will improve emergency response and operations efficiency; the motion to authorize execution of the agreement passed unanimously.
