At the Aug. 28 meeting the Ojai Basin Groundwater Management Agency approved its consent agenda and scheduled enforcement action for a remaining meter‑compliance case.
A motion to approve the July financial report and minutes passed on voice/roll call votes. The roll call recorded Director Finch, Director Weaver and Chair Hedges/Haitges voting "Yes." After the vote the record reflected that Director Bob Daddie had also joined the meeting.
On meter compliance, staff said two noncompliant well owners had previously been brought to the board for potential fines; one matter was partly rescinded and one owner still has not complied or communicated intent to comply. Staff, with assistance from Peter, served notice and said a board hearing will be held at the next meeting (dates discussed around the 24th/25th) to consider additional penalties for meter noncompliance.
The board adjourned at approximately 4:02 p.m. Staff will notify the owner and present the matter at the scheduled hearing; any penalties would require a future formal vote.
