Council approves security camera installations, cloud storage and a trailer purchase

The Holly Springs City Council approved multiple contracts for security camera installations and cloud storage with the vendor identified in the packet as Stealth Video, and authorized purchase of an equipment trailer.

Staff (identified in the packet and in discussion as Ron/Ronald) explained the recommendation to use Stealth Video as a single source because it provided the city's existing systems and would maintain a consistent system architecture and appearance. "The reason why we're going to stick with a single source on this situation is that they ... it's the same vendor that's provided our other system," Ronald (S5) said.

The council approved item E, a quote for installation work not to exceed $63,885.40, and item F for installation at JC Mullins Field (packet quote) with the previously selected vendor having fallen through; the transcript records the council approved those motions 3–0.

Council also approved an annual cloud-service agreement with Stealth Video for 58 existing cameras (180 days storage per camera) at City Hall, the Depot, Public Safety, Barrett Memorial Park and Karen Johnson Barnett Park, in an amount not to exceed $13,224. A prorated cloud agreement for 22 cameras at JB Owens Park and JC Mullins Field for 180 days of storage was approved separately (not to exceed $3,340 for the initial prorated period); staff said the agreements will be combined under a single contract on Jan. 1.

Separately, the council approved purchase of a 28-foot equipment trailer from Kaufman Trailers LLC (quote number 848904) not to exceed $8,220; staff said the originally approved vendor fell through and this was the next lowest quote.

All motions in this group were approved by voice vote and recorded as "Motion passes 3 0." Administrative staff will finalize contracts and schedule installations.
