Severance council approves consent calendar, appoints Russ Liberty to planning commission and names Mayor Pro Tem

The council voted to approve the consent calendar and the regular discussion agenda by roll call; the clerk recorded unanimous 'yes' votes from present members. The meeting then proceeded through staff reports and presentations.
On item 1 (planning commission vacancy), staff reported there was a single applicant, Russ Liberty, who introduced himself and answered council questions about his residency and interest in planning matters. The council voted to appoint Russ Liberty to the planning commission; the roll call recorded unanimous support.
The council also completed the annual mayor pro tem appointment. Councilmember Vandermark nominated herself and was seconded; the roll call recorded affirmative votes from present members and she will continue as Mayor Pro Tem.
