Prince William County Planning Commission recommends FY2026–2031 Capital Improvements Program

The Prince William County Planning Commission unanimously recommended adoption of the county’s FY2026–2031 Capital Improvements Program (DPA2025-00015) at its March 27 public hearing. Commissioners voted to forward the CIP, together with recommendations that staff reexamine planned and future projects — such as fire stations, libraries and parking garages — for strategic use of public facilities and land.
Planning Office staff member Ahmad Bezad presented the six-year CIP and described the development process, funding sources and project prioritization. "CIP is a plan, a 6 year plan which prioritize all the major facilities and infrastructure projects across the county," Bezad said, explaining that the plan aligns projects with the comprehensive plan and debt-financing policies and integrates county and school projects.
Staff highlighted 12 new county projects across functional categories. In human services and general government, staff proposed a Homeless Navigation Center (west) with land acquisition beginning this year and design starting in FY2026, and a combined Woodbridge Senior Center and Library with land acquisition underway and $5,000,004…
