Planning Commission defers Hovley Square rezoning and comprehensive plan amendment to Nov. 19

The Planning Commission on Nov. 5 recommended deferral of two Hovley Square items — rezoning REZ2024‑00023 and comprehensive‑plan amendment CPA2024‑00003 — to a date certain of Nov. 19, 2025.
Staff told the commission both items were the subject of requests for deferral and that the applicant had asked for time to refine materials. Commissioner Schiefler moved to defer both items to 11/19/2025; the motions were seconded and carried on roll call. The deferrals will allow additional coordination with staff and the district supervisor’s office and permit submission of updated materials for the next Planning Commission meeting.

Commissioners noted the items are in the Occoquan District and recommended the applicant continue working with staff on plan clarity prior to the next hearing.
