Board honors long-serving volunteer, thanks departing counsel and staff

The Prince William–Manassas Regional Jail Board recognized volunteer and staff contributions at its May 21 meeting.
Chaplain Ray Perez’s nomination, read to the board, described Deacon Dwayne Carroll as "a faithful, positive, and encouraging servant" who has taught in the jail’s MIND program, led worship services and provided pastoral counseling since 2009. The board presented Carroll with a plaque as Volunteer of the Year in recognition of the nomination.
Board members also publicly thanked jail staff for maintenance and grounds improvements and for successful recruitment work. Multiple members applauded the agency’s 100% compliance result on a recent audit and praised recruitment and internship expansions.
The chair presented a plaque to outgoing general counsel Sharon Pandek, recognizing 10 years of service to the jail board and the adult detention center (plaque dates cited on the transcript as 02/05/2015–05/18/2025). Members offered personal thanks and best wishes.
