Governor Stein sends nominations for Building Code Council, Employment Security Board to the House

Governor Josh Stein on April 23 submitted letters to the North Carolina House of Representatives seeking confirmation of multiple appointments: five nominees for the Building Code Council and a reappointment to the Employment Security Board of Review.

The clerk read the governor's letter naming Gloria Carney Seeley of Orange County as a licensed general contractor specializing in buildings taller than 75 feet, with a term concluding Jan. 1, 2027; Natalie McDonald of Wake County as a licensed professional mechanical engineer (term to Jan. 1, 2027); Brent Sigman of Durham County as a licensed plumbing and heating contractor (term to Jan. 1, 2029); Russell Williams of Alamance County as a level 3 code enforcement official (term to Jan. 1, 2029); and Christopher Whaley of Davidson County as a level 3 fire code official (term to Jan. 1, 2031). The clerk read that the governor is "pleased to nominate" these candidates for confirmation by the General Assembly.

In separate correspondence, the clerk read Governor Stein's reappointment of Regina S. Adams of Durham County to the North Carolina Employment Security Board of Review for a term beginning July 1, 2025. All letters were placed on file in the Clerk's Office, according to the record.
