Chief Financial Officer Derek Hahn outlined the proposed changes: staff described an increase in projected revenues (transcript figures read as a rise from roughly $305 million to about $307 million), an increase in journal-fund expenditures to capture encumbered purchase orders rolling from FY25 into FY26, and the addition of six firefighter FTEs to staff Station 11. Hahn also described an early estimate of about $5.9 million tied to World Cup 2026 preparations for event staffing, sidewalk repairs and traffic management around stadium areas.
The Budget and Audit Committee reviewed the amendment earlier the same day. After brief discussion, councilmember Laura moved to approve the amendment and the motion passed 6–0 as recorded in the meeting transcript.
Finance staff said the general fund remains strong with an unassigned fund balance around 34% (above the city's 30% target). Staff also noted other fund-level adjustments are documented in attached exhibits.
