Suggestions from board and community members included a focus on younger children (5-and-up), teen-targeted offerings such as CPR or first-aid certification, and safety topics ranging from dryer-vent fire prevention to the household hazards of liquid laundry packets.
Staff and several board members emphasized the event should be staff-managed rather than a council-run program and recommended keeping music and entertainment from overwhelming demonstration activities. Council Member Brun offered to supply planning ideas and asked staff (Lindsay) to help coordinate vendors and sponsors.
