Fulshear council awards 4th Street downtown drainage contract to low bidder

Staff said six bids were opened on Oct. 28 and reported a bid range in the packet from $2,325,848 to $3,608,067; the low bidder listed in staff materials was Conrad Construction with a low-bid figure reported in staff remarks as $2,000,003.25. Staff estimated final completion at about 330 calendar days.
Council action: a motion to approve agreement number 2025-067 was made, seconded and carried by voice vote at the Nov. 18 meeting.
What council asked: councilmembers asked how the low bid compared with the budget and whether leftover funds might be redeployed; staff said bid outcomes depend on competitive market conditions and that future recommendations about unused funds would be returned to council.
