Planning Commission elects John McFarland chair; Jason chosen vice chair

John McFarland was elected chair of the Decatur Planning Commission at the start of the regular meeting on April 15, 2025, and Jason was elected vice chair. The vote for chair was taken after a nomination and second; McFarland accepted and the commission approved the nomination by voice vote. The vice chair nomination for Jason was likewise seconded and approved unanimously.
The commission is a seven‑member body appointed by the city commission that reviews land‑use applications, zoning changes, conditional use permits, special exceptions and subdivision applications.
