The City of Lucas authorized construction and funding actions for the Osage Lane Sewer Lift Station project after a staff presentation outlining prior development agreements and funding history.
CIP manager Patrick Hubbard said the project has been staged since a 2009 development agreement. The city bid the work competitively and the low bid from Triad Services Group LLC was $828,760, which staff said is slightly below the engineer's estimate (SEG 1911–1914). Council authorized appropriating $702,985 from unrestricted water fund reserves, encumbering a 10% contingency ($82,876) and directed staff to negotiate a reimbursement agreement with Malouf Interest Inc for $109,150 to cover the developer-requested fence and gate components that exceed standard specifications (SEG 1899–1925; SEG 1867–1876).
Staff said the construction contract is estimated at 90 days and that city staff hopes to have work completed by late spring to align with the developer's planned opening (SEG 1941–1956). Council approved the funding and contract award by motion and voice vote (SEG 1998–2016).
