The Gage County Board of Supervisors closed bidding on material‑only bids for 25 culvert projects and, following staff review, awarded the contract to the low bidder.
County staff read bid totals and project line items for multiple contract codes; the highway superintendent recommended accepting the low bid. "After the review, we, all the numbers did match up with their calculations. We would suggest going with a Seaton with a low bid," the superintendent said during the review. The board then moved to accept the highway department recommendation and voted to award the culvert group to Ace Eaton (motion by Lytle, second by Haxby). The motion passed with a 6‑0 recorded vote.
Staff noted delivery windows (January–March 2026) and that shop drawings would be approved and the contractor could expect delivery about two to twelve weeks after approved drawings. The board asked staff to return with any scheduling concerns and requested that the highway department produce any needed traffic counts for township roads when warranted.
Next steps: county staff (Scott, Becky and Mark) will review the submitted bid documents and proceed with final contract paperwork and scheduling.
