The Rush Valley Town Council handled several routine administrative matters at its Nov. 12 meeting, approving minutes, authorizing vendor payments and canceling two upcoming meetings.
The council approved the Oct. 22 minutes after a motion and second (voice vote). Because the November meeting was scheduled a week earlier than usual, Speaker 1 moved to authorize payment of November 2025 bills although checks had not been cut; the measure passed. Speaker 3 likewise moved to authorize payment of December 2025 bills because the Dec. 24 meeting was canceled; that motion also passed.
Council approved canceling the Nov. 19 and Dec. 24 meetings and approved a town Christmas dinner scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m., with an estimated cost of $2,000. Council asked for guest lists and delegated Patty to help with invitations. The council also reviewed the town’s insurance policy, discussed premiums and a $1,000 deductible example for fire-resistant clothing and SCBA replacement, and reviewed the quarterly budget and Rush Valley Days accounting. Council identified a $700.03 T-shirt expense and discussed transferring remaining committee funds toward Rush Valley Days to reduce net cost.
The meeting concluded with public comment praising improved meeting procedure and a motion to adjourn that carried.
