Taylor summarized the project to the board: "My name is Taylor, and I'm here representing Selective Solutions on behalf of Robert Bell to build the permissioned, cell tower," and described the plan to "remove the wireless support structure that's on top of the existing billboard" and to build "a 115 foot monopole that's gonna have a 5 foot lightning rod on top." Taylor also explained safety features, saying the pole is designed with a "pinch point" so that in an extreme weather event it would "fall within the compound." He added the anchor tenant will be T Mobile and that the tower "will be available to 2 others" for colocations.
Board members questioned engineering and construction details. One member asked whether the design would cause the pole to telescope or fall a specific way; Taylor said the intent is a predictable break point (she estimated about 50 feet from the top) and emphasized such failure would be rare. Taylor estimated on-site monopole stacking is quick but noted permitting and zoning take longer. When asked about impacts to adjacent businesses, Taylor replied the owner was "very happy with us doing it." The applicant said they had completed a setback variance and the required aeronautical/height review and included fall-zone documentation and photo simulations in the packet.
The board read the ordinance title (recorded in the minutes as 'Bridal 2,512' by title only) for a conditional use permit at the 2500 Technology Drive site but did not complete a second reading that night. A motion to postpone the second reading carried; the hearing will be continued if the second reading is not approved at the next meeting. The matter is scheduled to return for a later session for further action.
