Rush Valley’s planning and zoning commission approved a building permit Jan. 7 for a hay barn located at 562 North Main that is already constructed on the property.
Brian Lever recorded his name for the record as the applicant’s representative; staff confirmed the building’s placement is consistent with R‑R‑5 zoning setbacks: a 20‑foot side yard, 30‑foot front yard (Main Street), and 50‑foot rear yard. Staff noted a 40‑foot measurement to the south property line and that no additional utilities (power or water) were connected for the hay-barn structure. Paperwork and required inspections were described as complete or in process.
Commissioner Scott moved to approve the hay-barn building permit and Carl seconded; the motion passed by voice vote. Staff indicated the applicant will remit engineering fees (from Ensign Engineering) before final processing and that inspections (electrical/plumbing/structure as applicable) will follow normal procedures.
Next steps: applicant to provide outstanding engineering fee payment to staff; inspections scheduled as required.
