DARDENNE PRAIRIE, Mo. — The Board of Aldermen voted to approve an intergovernmental police-services agreement with Saint Charles County that will add two patrol officers and increase street patrols from two officers to four.
City Attorney (unnamed in transcript) read Bill 25-29, an ordinance authorizing the city administrator to negotiate and execute the agreement. The city administrator summarized the proposal: "This will be the addition of 2 officers bringing our total number of officers on the streets to 4," and said the change responded to citizen requests for more police presence.
Alderman Johnson moved the ordinance for second reading; Alderman Goodmire seconded. The board carried the ordinance on roll call.
What's next: The city administrator is authorized to finalize and execute the agreement with Saint Charles County. Staff said the change would increase patrol hours and presence in subdivisions once the county and city complete the intergovernmental contract.
