The city engineer told the board that construction on Town Square Avenue will commence with half‑road milling followed immediately by paving so each work day ends with a completed half of the roadway; traffic may be limited to eastbound flow during active work. He asked residents to expect short delays for the two primary workdays and finishing work the rest of the week.
The engineer also said MoDOT will close Technology Road beginning Aug. 11 for a project expected to continue through the end of the year; staff has discussed signage and efforts to limit nonlocal traffic and has recorded baseline video of local roads to document pre‑construction conditions.
Staff noted the city received a federal Surface Transportation Block Grant via the East‑West Gateway Council of Governments for the Weldon Spring Improvement Project; MoDOT will administer federal funds and execute reimbursement agreements with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission. The city will present agreement documents for two readings at an upcoming meeting.
The board was asked to note potential traffic congestion, to coordinate public communications, and to expect further agenda items to secure grant agreements and intergovernmental terms.
