Dardenne Prairie to pay O'Fallon for repairs to 400-foot stretch of Fisey Road trail
Summary
The board approved an intergovernmental agreement with the City of O'Fallon for roughly 400 feet of asphalt trail repair on Fisey Road; O'Fallon will perform the work under its contract while Dardenne Prairie pays a lump-sum and will be reimbursed for unused funds.

Dardenne Prairie agreed to partner with the City of O'Fallon to repair about 400 feet of asphalt trail on the north side of Fisey Road, adjacent to Laura’s subdivision and near Stump Road. Matt, the city engineer, said O'Fallon will perform the construction work as an extension of its project on Fisey Road, and Dardenne Prairie will pay a lump-sum amount up front; any funds O'Fallon does not spend will be reimbursed to the city.
“Kit's about, I wanna say, like, 400 feet of path, that they will repair for us. We just pay for it. They will do all the construction costs and everything with that,” Matt said.
Kathy, the city administrator, said the arrangement lets Dardenne Prairie “take advantage of the City of O'Fallon's competitively bidding the work,” which is expected to provide cost efficiencies the city could not achieve on a smaller standalone contract.
Board members clarified the agreement covers only the trail surface and not adjacent green space; Oak Island — a nearby developer — will complete work on the opposite side of the corridor while O'Fallon addresses cracks and bumps on the segment under this agreement. The trail segment was described as running east from where Stump Road ties into Fisey Road toward Campus Cove.
The board discussed the parcel ownership (noting the segment is one of the few north-side parcels that belong to Dardenne Prairie) and had no further questions before moving on with the agenda.
