The Board opened the public hearing for the Stillwater Grove conditional use permit but postponed further consideration because the petitioner failed to send legally required notice to adjacent property owners.
At the meeting the Mayor asked to open the hearing; Alderman Johnson moved to open, the hearing was opened and no members of the public spoke. City staff and the City Attorney confirmed the petitioner did not send the necessary adjacent-property notices, and Alderman Johnson moved — with a second by Alderman Wilson — to postpone the hearing to the next regularly scheduled meeting, which the Board set for Sept. 17.
The Planning & Zoning commission had taken the same action to continue the matter at its next meeting; Board members directed staff to reschedule the item for both bodies and to complete the required notice process before the next hearing.
