The Dardenne Prairie Board of Aldermen voted to award snow and ice removal services for the 2025–2026 winter season to the company named in the city's proposal and authorized the City Administrator to execute the agreement.
City staff said the contract is for one year with two optional renewals. The City Engineer described operational advantages the contractor offered in cul-de-sacs: rather than relying solely on large plows, the contractor plans to use a skid loader to clear cul-de-sacs and avoid blocking driveways.
Board members asked whether the contract required the contractor to clear fire hydrants and staff said that while hydrant-clearing was not explicitly in the contract language, the city would address the issue at the pre-season meeting with the contractor. City staff also said they will provide public information ahead of snow season about moving vehicles and reporting concerns.
Alderman Johnson moved and Alderman Wilson seconded a roll-call vote; the City Clerk recorded affirmative votes and the Board declared the bill passed and adopted as Ordinance No. 2375.
