Dardenne Prairie staff recommends ReVise website redesign, citing lower cost and ADA features

"Revise is offering a free website redesign with a four-year contract renewal," Rose (staff) said, and showed an example municipal site to illustrate navigation, color and calendar features. Rose said the city originally budgeted $30,000 for a full redesign but that rebuilding from scratch today could cost closer to $50,000; she described the ReVise path as a cost-saving alternative.
Rose explained the vendor offers an embedded concerns/upload feature at no additional cost, while the city's existing myGov resident-reporting solution would require an extra fee if activated. The vendor's optional ADA compliance scans and AI-chatbot services were quoted at $5,800 per year.
Aldermen pressed staff for clarity after the packet listed recent cost estimates ranging from $50,000 to $80,000. One board member asked whether selecting ReVise would require the city to pay that larger amount on top of the $3,300 migration fee; staff said the ReVise free redesign is an alternative to a full rebuild and would not add the larger rebuild cost.
Staff also said the city will move from a .org to a .gov domain and that existing email addresses will continue to function during the transition. Officials noted the redesign will allow staff to consolidate duplicate pages that currently appear in searches.
Next steps: staff requested board authorization to approve the $3,300 migration fee and to enter the four-year contract; the board was asked to consider two readings and approval at the meeting. No formal board vote was recorded in the work session.
